Emily Marie Seale
Emily Marie Seale is the Director/Owner of Theatre School of Dance in Bossier City, Louisiana. She is a Registered Teacher and an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance, having passed the Advanced 2nd exam level of the Royal Academy of Dance. Emily received her ballet training from Marion Mills, a national and international dance instructor. Mrs. Mills is known locally for founding Theatre School of Dance and the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet. Emily also studied under numerous other instructors and artists locally and at various ballet workshops, including the national Royal Academy of Dance workshops and a Ballet Magnificent workshop. In 2006, Mrs. Se ale participated in an Advanced Teacher Workshop at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, England. Emily studied tap extensively at Theatre School of Dance and Dance Studio Arts.
Emily Marie Seale danced with the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet for twelve years and was a principal dancer during her Senior Company years. In 2001 she was named Dancer of the Year for the company. She has taught and choreographed for various groups in the Shreveport-Bossier area in addition to her duties at the ballet school. She is presently the director of Adorare Performing Arts Company and a certified Pilates instructor through the Physical Mind Institute.
Emily’s desire is to encourage the development of ‘the arts’ in the community, as well as to be a strong positive influence on the youth of Shreveport and Bossier City. Mrs. Seale is currently studying with the Association of International Dance Teachers working on bringing Tap and Modern/Jazz exams to the Theatre School of Dance.
Emily Seale has a Bachelors in Fine Arts from Louisiana State University in Shreveport. She is aslo a certified pilates instructor through the physical mind institute trained under Kathleen Wiener, owner of FitRX in Shreveport.
Amy has studied ballet, jazz, tap, and modern, and at eighteen decided to pursue jazz under the direction of Frank Vega and Aaron Girlinghouse at Dance Arts Studio in Shreveport. She has attended numerous workshops taught by world-renowned instructors such as Pattie Obey and Susan Quinn Williams. She received her degree in speech communications from Louisiana State University in Shreveport.
She continues to enhance her dance and teaching skills through attending workshops and training sponsored by Vega and Girlinghouse in Houston. She has taught at Theatre School of Dance since 2008 and is the principal jazz instructor, and also teaches tap.
She is married to Tim Shaughnessy, economics professor at Louisiana State University in Shreveport, and is the mother of Michael, age three, and Gabriel, age one.
Mary Ley began her dance training at the age of six and has studied under Celia Mills, Marion Mills, and extensively under Emily Seale, Director/Owner of Theatre School of Dance. By attending various workshops, including the Royal Academy of Dance Summer Intensive in Long Beach, California and Ballet Magnificent, Mary has had the opportunity to study under many accomplished instructors.
Mary completed all of the Royal Academy of Dance examinations up to the Advanced 1 Level. She spent several years dancing with Adorare Performing Arts Company, serving one year as a principal dancer. In 2003, Mary became a dance instructor at Theatre School of Dance where she has enjoyed teaching for the past eight years. In the summer of 2011, she participated in the RAD Teachers Workshop for the Intermediate level of dance. Mary is also a Certified Pilates mat instructor through the PhysicalMind Institute and currently a senior at Louisiana State University in Shreveport pursuing a bachelor’s degree in General Studies.
Elizabeth competed six years on a competitive gymnastics team before switching to dance at the age of thirteen. Since then she has completed the Royal Academy of Dance exams Grade V- Advanced II under the training of Emily Seale. She has also studied jazz and tap under various instructors, but has received her training primarily be Amy Shaughnessy. Elizabeth has attended many summer workshops held at Theatre School of Dance and in 2011 attended Ballet Magnificat’s summer intensive. For the last two years she has taught ballet and jazz at the children’s summer workshop at Theatre School of Dance and has been a ballet and jazz instructor there since 2009.
She graduated from Bossier Parish Community College in May of 2012 with an Associate’s degree in general science and is currently working on her Pilates certification under direction of Kathleen Wiener, owner/instructor of Fit-Rx.
