About Our Company
Theatre School of Dance was founded by Marion Mills in Shreveport in 1971. Mrs. Mills received extensive training in dance in Europe, passing all of the Royal Academy of Dance ballet exams and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance in Tap, Modern Dance and National Dancing Exams. She has taught throughout the United States and Europe. The dance school grew because of the excellence of her program and the high standards she set for her students. Due to the popularity of her school and the need to accommodate other students, she eventually opened a dance studio in Bossier City, which is the present Theatre School of Dance. In 2003, the Huber family purchased Theatre School of Dance. Emily Marie Seale, who had trained under Mrs. Mills, became Director of the school. She is a Registered Teacher and Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance. Emily performed with the Shreveport Metropolitan Ballet for 12 years, including two years as a Principal Dancer. She has taught and choreographed for various groups in the Shreveport-Bossier area in addition to her duties at the ballet school. She is presently director of Adorare Performing Arts Company.

The aim of Theatre School of Dance is to train students in dance using the highest standards of ballet, tap, and jazz. Teachers in the school strive to help the students reach their full potential in dance while instilling important values of self-discipline and self worth. The school tries to provide a wholesome atmosphere and encourages Christian principles.
Theatre School of Dance students are encouraged to meet the high standards set for them and not to settle for less than their best. As a result, the students rise to the level expected of them. Whether a student studies dance for a long or short period of time, hopefully their experience at the school will have enriched their life, giving them a love for dance and principles of self-disciple to carry with them into whatever career they later choose. We offer Classical Ballet, Tap/Jazz and Modern for children 2 1/2 to adult.
